Vernal police were notified that three people and their dogs were living in a business at 27 West Main Street in Vernal, Ut.

Cpl. Ross responded to the trespassing detail and met with a male who was seen with two dogs. The man stated he was spending time with a friend at this address. It appeared that multiple people had been living in this business.

The officer informed the male that there was a possible issue with trespassing, as the owners requested that no one be at this address. When the officer asked if there was anyone else inside the building, the male said there was only him and his friend. The male left the area, and the officers cleared the building.

While clearing the building, Cpl. Ross located 41-year-old April Marie Patrick close to where the male was standing.

Before the officer went up the stairs, he noticed what appeared to be a human shoulder. The person quickly moved deeper into the room to conceal themselves. After ordering the person to show themselves, the officer recognized the person as April from previous incidents.

April and the male have a Jail Release Agreement in which the male is the protected party. This order was served on April on October 21, 2024, at 6:14 a.m.

Cpl. Ross has met with April on other incidents similar to this one, where she violated this same order. An anonymous complaint reported that they had seen the male and April together the night before and earlier. The same complaint reported that April was hiding upstairs.

April stated she was upstairs the entire time and didn’t know the male was in the business. She stated she believed the order meant that only if they saw each other that was considered a violation.

Cpl. Ross spoke with the person renting the business. She stated that the male had stayed the previous night, and she had given permission to April to stay whenever, as she had stayed there in the past.

April's narrative continued to change, similar to other events when April had withheld information or lied.

April was placed in handcuffs that were double locked and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
