Vernal, Ut.-On 7/5/23, Cpl. Johnstun was dispatched on a residential detail and was advised by dispatch that the complainant stated she rents rooms and an intoxicated male had come into her room during the night, and she wasn't sure who he was, and he was still there.
The homeowner/complainant rents rooms to individuals, and the complainant rents a downstairs room. The homeowner let the police into her residence and showed them the room where a male subject was lying in the bed. The homeowner advised that the male rents an upstairs room.
The male subject was identified as 20-year-old Zachery Mckade Thompson.
While the police spoke with Zachery, they could tell he was still intoxicated and could smell alcohol coming from his person.
Zachery stated he didn’t know how he got into the room. A records check showed he had an activated arrest warrant.
Thompson was arrested and requested the Officers gather his wallet and cell phone.
Cpl. Johnstun entered Thompson's room and saw two glass pipes on the nightstand with a yellow substance consistent with marijuana.
While speaking with the homeowner, she stated she was asleep in her bed when Thompson entered her bedroom. Thompson laid down on the floor and urinated himself. The Officer found a pair of men's pants on the floor, which were wet and smelled of urine.
The homeowner stated she didn't know what to do, so she left the home for a while, hoping Thompson would leave. He returned, and Thompson was still on the floor. So she sat on the bed, and Thompson took off his pants and got into her bed.
The homeowner stated she left the room again, and Thompson followed her, and she locked herself in the bathroom to escape him. After waiting for a while, she exited the bathroom, and Thompson was asleep in her bed, and this is when she left the home and called dispatch.
Zachery Thompson was booked into the Uintah County Jail for trespassing, intoxication, illegal consumption, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
