Uintah County Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Uintah County on the report of a domestic disturbance that occurred. The complainant reported to 911 that she had been hit in the head with a beer bottle by her ex-husband.
Upon Law Enforcement's arrival, the victim was seen on the front porch with a laceration to the back of her head, consistent with what she reported to 911. The victim stated her ex-husband was on the back porch and identified him as 59-year-old Phillip Shane Boyles as being the one who hit her.
Deputy O’Donnal located the ex-husband and identified himself as Phillip Shane Boyles.
The deputy asked him what had happened, and Phillip stated that the victim was his ex-wife, and they had been separated for quite some time. Phillip stated that the victim came over after going to the cemetery together, and the victim began a verbal argument, which she later left.
Phillip stated the victim came back and continued the argument. He said this angered him, and he followed her to the front porch, where he hit her with a glass beer bottle over the head.
After speaking with the victim further, she stated there was a verbal argument that took place, and she was later hit in the head by Phillip with a glass bottle, causing a laceration to the back of her head.
While speaking with Phillip, Deputy O'Donnal noted a very strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his presence. Phillip admitted to being under the influence of alcohol.
Based on what had occurred, Phillip was placed under arrest and taken to the Uintah County Jail.
