Vernal, Ut.- On December 15th, 2022, Deputy Jones responded to Ashley Regional Medical Center on a report from a patient that had been assaulted.
This assault took place at a Vernal residence at 72 West 700 North. The victim reported that early that morning, his friends Charlene and Jacob Horton woke him up and were yelling at him due to them losing their keys.
The victim told Deputy Jones that Charlene and Jacob both said that they would fuck him up if he didn't produce the keys.
The victim said Jacob started to punch him as Charlene yelled fuck him up! The victim stated he fell to the floor and blacked out. The victim stated that they were on the couch when he woke up and went downstairs to find the keys.
The injuries sustained by the victim were a broken front tooth, bruising to the left eye, and cuts to the face.
Upon interviewing Charlene and Jacob post-Miranda, both said that Charlene was asking Jeremy where the keys were, and the victim appeared to go after Charlene aggressively. At that time, Jacob started to punch the victim in the face while Jacob was holding a cell phone.
Two adult witnesses were present at the residence, and they stated they saw the victim on the floor and Jacob punching him.
Deputy Jones arrested Jacob Horton for aggravated assault third-degree felony, for using an unlawful form of violence by punching the victim in the face multiple times while holding a cell phone which created substantial bodily injury by knocking out a tooth and several lacerations on the face and a black eye.
30-year-old Jacob Horton was booked into the Uintah County Jail for Felony 3 aggravated assault.
