Uintah County Deputies were dispatched to Brush Creek on a report of a domestic in progress. When they arrived at the address, Deputy Simmons heard yelling from inside the residence.
Deputy Russell knocked on the door, and they were met by the homeowner, an adult male victim. The victim stated an altercation had occurred with a family member, but everyone was okay.
After speaking with the victim further, Deputy Simmons and Deputy Russell were allowed inside the residence. The victim walked with Deputy Simmons to the front porch and told the deputy he and the other two adult females inside the residence had begun drinking alcohol earlier in the evening. After some time, the adult male victim no longer wanted to drink and was trying to go to bed. This caused an issue with one of the adult females, who was later identified as 47-year-old Cathy Parker.
The victim stated he and Cathy began to argue, and out of nowhere, he was attacked by someone trying to gouge his eyes out. The victim said the other female got in between him and Cathy and was unsure if she was attacking him as well, but once he felt someone was trying to claw out his eyes, he shoved both of them off of him.
The male victim had obvious facial injuries with scratches around his eyes, a blackened left eye, as well as some swelling to his forehead.
After Deputy Simmons spoke with the victim, he went upstairs to talk with the female witness.
The witness stated Cathy, the victim, and she were drinking, and at some point, Cathy and the victim began to argue. The female witness stated Cathy then started to fight with the victim physically, and she tried to get between them to break it up and told Cathy to stop fighting with the victim. Cathy continued to fight with the victim after being asked to stop by the witness.
When between Cathy and the victim, at some point, the witness was shoved into a class pantry cabinet with Cathy by the victim. After this had happened, Cathy and the victim separated, and that is when law enforcement was contacted due to the witness being very afraid of what might happen due to Cathy's actions.
Deputy Roth and Deputy Russell located Cathy downstairs while Deputy Simmons was upstairs speaking with the witness. Cathy refused to answer questions about what had occurred but said she was kicked in the head earlier in the day, and that's why her hair was bloody.
Due to the information the deputies received from the victim and the witness, it was determined Cathy was the predominant aggressor in this incident, and she was taken into custody.
Cathy was taken to the hospital to treat her head wound, and while Deputy Russell was trying to identify her, Cathy provided Deputy Russell with several different names and dates of birth. Deputy Russell informed Deputy Simmons he was able to locate a passport card on Cathy's person, which provided her legal name and date of birth. Deputy Russell informed Deputy Simmons that Cathy stated the reason why she did not want to give him her name was because she had a bench warrant out of California for her arrest.
After being treated at the hospital for her injuries, Cathy was transported to the Uintah County Jail, where she voluntarily provided a breath sample for alcohol on a Portable Breath Test (PBT). The PBT showed a positive reading for alcohol at a level of .207 BrAC.
Cathy was then booked into the Uintah County Jail on the following charges:
Assault With Substantial Bodily Injury (Domestic Violence) - Class A Misdemeanor: For attacking the adult male victim with her hands, scratching his face and eyes to the point he had received multiple abrasions and temporary disfigurement to his face.
Intoxication Alcohol - Class C Misdemeanor: For being intoxicated to a point where she was not only a danger to herself but others inside of the residence with a blood alcohol level of .207 BrAC
Disorderly Conduct - Class C Misdemeanor: For creating a disturbance inside of the residence which caused a party not involved to be fearful for her safety and the safety of others inside of the residence due to Cathy continuing to fight after being asked to stop, ultimately leading the non involved party to contact law enforcement for assistance.
False Personal Identification To Peace Officer - Class C Misdemeanor: For providing several false names and dates of birth to a uniformed police officer in an attempt to avoid a possible warrant from a different state.
Cathy Parker was later released from Jail.
