Deputy Lyman was stationary on SR-121 outside of Lapoint when he saw headlights to his west at the Lapoint dump, which is closed this time of night.

The deputy grabbed his binoculars and looked toward the area of the headlights. He could see two subjects going through the dump and they appeared to be around the office area.

Shortly after, Deputy Lyman could no longer see the flashlights and was able to hear a vehicle moving on a gravel road. he then observed headlights in front of his vehicle on the road that went directly to the dump and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The deputy recognized the passenger as 50-year-old Jerame Lynn Adams.

Deputy Lyman spoke with Jerame and the unknown female driver about seeing them inside the dump and explained to them that the dump was closed, which they both agreed to. The deputy stated that the gate to the dump was closed and should have been locked.

The deputy then asked the occupants if the gate was open, closed, or locked. They said they were unsure because they hadn't driven in there. The two said they had parked at the gate and walked in.

At this time, dispatch confirmed that Jerame had an active warrant. He was asked to exit the vehicle and told he was under arrest.

Jerame was taken into custody on the warrant and booked into the Uintah County Jail on the warrant and on the new charge of criminal trespassing, a class B Misdemeanor.

Based on the affirmation of Deputy Lyman,  the arresting officer, the undersigned magistrate finds that probable cause existed for the arrest without a warrant of Jerame Lynn Adams. Jerame Lynn Adams may post bail in the amount of $690.00.
