Naples, Utah (5/16/26)— At approximately 4:30 pm, Officer Beatty was dispatched to 1581 E US-40 in Naples. The caller stated that the property manager for the motel made sexual advances towards their neighbor.
It was also reported that the manager, 68-year-old Daniel Ray Young, was drunk and standing inside her doorway.
Once on scene, Officer Beatty could see Daniel sitting outside talking with other law enforcement officers.
Officer Beatty entered the motel room and began to speak with the victim, who told the officer that when Daniel drinks alcohol, he makes sexual advances towards her and oftentimes enters her room without her permission.
The victim told the officer she had just returned to her motel room and was in the bathroom when she heard the door open, and Daniel's voice say, "Hello." The victim stated she is afraid of what Daniel might do if this continued because this was not the first time he had entered her motel room without any urgent need for repair or given any proper notice for entry.
First responding deputies stated they saw Daniel inside the victim’s motel room with a beer in his hand before the deputy asked Daniel to step outside.
Officer Beatty then spoke with Daniel and asked for his explanation of the events. He stated that he knocked on the door, and he heard the victim say, "Come in." He opened the door and walked into the motel room. When asked what they were talking about, Daniel said they were just talking about different things.
Officer Beatty informed Daniel that he would be placed under arrest for criminal trespass and intoxication and placed into handcuffs. He was then taken to the Uintah County Jail by an assisting deputy.
