A man with a drinking problem is arrested near the Roosevelt Cemetery. Ten days later, he is arrested again at a bus stop in Vernal

Roosevelt, Utah (5/18/26)—City Officials notified police that 26-year-old Aron Dean Oldham had been trespassed from the area of the Roosevelt Cemetery on May 14^th, 2026.

Officer Bellon was in the area and noticed that Aron's tent and property were still there. Aron was talking with cemetery staff when the officer approached him and asked about the night before. He was adamant he was leaving today and stated that he had been told he had till today and was just going to get a duffel bag to pack up his items.

It was confirmed with Officer Wheeler that she did give him till to day. Aron had stayed through the night and was still present this morning, violating the clear notification that he was not to be there.

Aron was arrested for criminal trespass, and while the officer spoke with him, his behavior was consistent with being under the influence of alcohol. Aron is known to be on probation through the 8^th District Court for prior alcohol offenses. One of his conditions is not to purchase, possess, or consume any alcoholic beverages or enter any establishment where alcohol is the chief item of order.

Officer Bellon asked Aron if there was any alcohol in his bag or his tent. He said there was some beer in his tent.

While the police were inventorying Aron's property, they found a large number of empty beer and liquor bottles in his tent and the surrounding area. Several full cans of Miller Lite were also located.

Aron was transported to the UBMC for medical clearance before being transported to the Duchesne County Jail.

Vernal, Utah (5/28/26)—At around 3:00 pm, Officer Boren was dispatched to an intoxicated male lying down at a bus stop in the area of 73 W 100 N.

The officer arrived at the bus stop where another Vernal City Officer was speaking with a male lying on the ground.

The man on the ground was identified as 26-year-old Aron Dean Oldham by his Colorado-issued driver's license.

Officer Boren could smell alcohol coming from Aron and saw an open case of beer and a backpack that Aron claimed was his.

Sgt. Johnstun conducted a records check on Aron while Officer Boren continued to talk to Aron.

Aron said he had consumed two beers when Sgt Johnstun confirmed Aron is an interdicted person based on an 8th District Court Roosevelt case.

Aron was placed under arrest and taken to a patrol vehicle, and provided a portable breath test sample with a BrAC of 0.248. He was then transported to the Uintah County Jail and booked on the charge of Unlawful Purchase by Interdicted Person.
