Vernal, Ut.—On March 22nd, 2026, responded to a report of trespassing which was occurring at a local hospital within Vernal City limits. Call notes indicated that this individual had been asked to leave but is refusing.

The officer arrived at the hospital and saw a man sitting in a wheelchair in the middle of the E.R. waiting room. According to the hospital security guard, he had previously removed the suspect after being asked to leave, but the suspect returned.

The second time, after the man was treated, he made himself comfortable in the waiting room and refused to leave.

The man was identified as 40-year-old Kenneth Keith Santio, who stated that he was homeless and had nowhere else to go.

Kenneth was arrested for criminal trespassing with notice of entry restriction, in that he remained on the property after being asked to leave. This offense was still in progress when the officer arrived and therefore occurred in his presence, so Kenneth was placed under arrest and booked into the Uintah County Jail.
