Roosevelt, Ut.-On 5/5/23, Officer Pedersen was dispatched to speak with the complainant, who received a text message saying, "I just jumped on my boyfriend's back and put both arms around his neck and choked him."
After reading the message, the officer went to the address where the incident occurred.
The officer made contact with a female, identified as 18-year-old Kinnlee Dale Arrowchis, at the door and asked her what had taken place. While talking with Kinnlee, the officer didn't see any signs she had been involved in a physical altercation.
Kinnlee stated she and her boyfriend had been watching a video, and she started to play a game on her phone. Her boyfriend took her phone away, and she jumped on his back, wrapped her arms around his neck, and started to choke him. Kinnlee said while choking him, her boyfriend fell backward and landed on her head and neck.
Kinnlee stated no one ever expressed intent to call the police, no one made any threats, and after they fell to the floor, the altercation ended.
The officer spoke to Kinnlee’s boyfriend, and he didn’t see any signs he had been in a physical altercation.
Kinnlee's boyfriend stated they had been watching a movie on his phone when Kinnlee started to use her phone. He stated he took her phone away, and that's when Kinnlee jumped on his back, wrapped both arms around his neck, and started to choke him. He stated he couldn't breathe, and his vision was affected to the point he saw stars. He then said he fell backward and landed on Kinnlee's head and neck.
He stated nothing was broken, and no one tried to call the police, and after they fell, the altercation ended.
Kinnlee Arrowchis was arrested and booked into the Duchesne County Jail for aggravated assault and Domestic violence.
