A Probation’s Check Lands A Uintah County Man Back In Jail

Vernal, Ut.-On 10/23/23, Agent McGaha and AP&P Agent Ercanbrack had possible narcotics in a probationer's home on a probation check. Ercanbrack advised that 31-year-old Jesse Taylor Allred had his follow-up with his agent and had a dirty UA test.

Agent McGaha arrived on scene at 188 West and 600 North. Ercanbrack met McGaha at the front door and escorted him downstairs, where McGaha saw that Allred was already detained in handcuffs and seated in a chair. Ercanbrack stated there were text messages indicating Allred purchased Fentanyl pills.

While the agents searched Allred's room, a pill bottle was located with Allred's name printed on it. Inside the bottle was a baggie with white powder residue and blue broken pieces of Fentanyl.

Also located were two straws with burnt and melted ends with dark residue inside.

Dispatch was asked to perform a criminal history check on Allred, and it revealed nine prior controlled substance convictions and three marijuana convictions.

Allred was booked on Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony with prior convictions, Possession of Marijuana a misdemeanor, a with three prior convictions, and possession of Paraphernalia.
