A Man gets Threatened By An Intoxicated Male While Hunting In The Book Cliffs

Uintah County, Ut.- On March 4th, 2024, at 10:51 am, DWR Officer Winsor received a call from a complainant reporting being threatened while on Indian Ridge Road in Uintah County.


The complainant stated he was hunting in the Book Cliffs and ran into 25-year-old Brandon Lee Jeffs.


According to the complainant, Jeffs got out of his truck and walked over to the complainant, where they exchanged words, and Jeffs rolled up his sleeves and then threatened to beat up the complainant. Being scared, the complainant left the area as quickly as he could.


Officer Winsor met with Jeffs and asked about the incident, and he stated he didn't know the complainant but had a connection through hunting. Jeffs said they had words, and then they both left the area.


The complainant stated when He and Jeffs met and wanted to fight Jeffs was holding a beer can in his hand. Officer Winsor told Jeffs that he couldn’t threaten another hunter with violence.


During the interaction with Jeffs the officer could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his person, and Jeffs eyes were red and bloodshot. Jeffs was verbally aggressive and used profanities toward the officer while speaking.


DWR Officer Miller had a video that Jeffs posted on Snapchat of him holding a can of Coors light beer on this date at 11:00 am. In the video, multiple cans of Coors light beer are inside the truck.


A trash bag full of empty Coors light beer cans was found in the back seat of the vehicle Jeffs was driving.


Brandon Jeffs was arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
