A Man Falls In Parking Lot, Officer Asks What Happened, Man Tells Officer “I’m Drunk.”

| Vernal, Ut. | May 26th, 2024 |

Vernal City Police responded to the Valley Saloon at 1684 West US-40 for an individual who had fallen in the parking lot.

When Officer Elmer arrived on scene, a male subject was lying on the ground in the parking lot with multiple people tending to him. Officer Elmer went to speak with the male, who was later identified as 22-year-old Brodie Gage Ivie, and asked him what had happened, and he said, "I'm Drunk."

A bystander stated that Brodie had fallen and hit his head, and when asked how he fell. Brodie stated that he needed to "pee" and tried to slide his pants down but was stopped from pulling his pants down and stood up with the assistance of two of the bystanders who were on the scene.

Brodie was unable to walk by himself, so he was assisted to the restroom inside the Valley Saloon, where he began to disagree with the bystanders and his friends.

Brodie was escorted out of the building, and while outside, it was determined that his friend would not be able to take responsibility for him and that Brodie was under the influence of alcohol to the point where he was a danger to himself and potentially others.

Brodie was arrested and transported to the Uintah Basin Hospital for medical clearance. While there, Brodie also provided a partial Portable Breath Test Sample. That came back with a positive indication of alcohol at .230 Brac.

Once Brodie was cleared from Uintah Basin Hospital, he was then transported to the Uintah County Jail, where he was charged with Intoxication.
