Back in March, multiple residences in the 400 West and 800 South areas had their vehicles burglarized or attempted to be broken into. Several doorbell cameras captured a male opening or trying to open vehicle doors.

The male was seen wearing a darker-colored jacket, pants, and dark shoes and had buzzed or balding hair.

On April 11, 2024, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Officer McCurdy was dispatched to Escalante Drive to investigate a noise complaint.

It was reported that 51-year-old Steven Kenneth Ford was out on his back porch screaming. This incident was the second time law enforcement responded to Escalante Drive on this date for Steven Ford.

The first time was to ask Steven to cease his behavior, which could constitute disorderly conduct.

Steven was located on his back porch, describing how he saw and heard things that were not there. Steven continued to speak in a loud voice, showing signs of illegal narcotics, and admitted to using methamphetamine within the past week.

With Steven's consent, officers were allowed to enter his residence, where Steven quickly walked into the living room and sat on the couch. In plain view were illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia on the two end tables on each side of the sofa.

The officer saw a glass pipe with meth residue inside. The pipes also had burn marks along the outer edges, commonly used to heat the outside to ingest meth and other narcotics.

Officer McCurdy stated in the affidavit that in previous encounters with Steven at this specific location, illegal items were located in the same area of the residence. I determined there was probable cause to arrest Steven.

Steven Ford was handcuffed and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
