Vernal, Ut.—On 3/10/24, Multiple residences in the 400 West and 800 South area had their vehicles burglarized or attempted to be broken into. Several doorbell cameras captured a male opening or trying to open vehicle doors.
The male was seen wearing a darker-colored jacket, pants, dark shoes and had buzzed or balding hair.
Later in the day, a male was called in by a neighborhood resident, saying a male was seen throwing a can on the parking strip of the LDS church. Law Enforcement arrived and found the male at the intersection of 500 West 100 South. The man was seen wearing the same clothes as the one observed on several security cameras.
It was discovered that the male's name was 51-year-old Steven Kenneth Ford, and his residence is across the street from 500 West. Steven confessed to being in the area of 775 South and getting into vehicles.
Officer McCurdy determined there was probable cause Steven committed multiple burglaries and thefts.
Steven consented law enforcement to retrieve the stolen items from his residence. At the residence multiple stolen items were found.
