On 5/28/24, Deputy Mieure was dispatched to a residence in Vernal on a trespassing detail. According to dispatch, a male was found inside the home, and dispatch stated that the suspect fled from the residence, traveling southbound on foot.

When the deputy arrived in the area he was traveling west on 2050 South, he saw a male step out into his lane of travel with his hands above his head, facing away from the deputy.

Deputy Mieure pulled up to the male, got out of his patrol vehicle, and approached the male. The suspect was later identified as 25-year-old Tinieh Raey Tavares.

Tinieh told the deputy that he was new to the area and was trying to find his girlfriend's residence, which recently moved into the subdivision. He stated that he and his girlfriend had been talking throughout the evening and invited him over for a "Booty call."

Tinieh claimed he had snuck into the residence, which he believed to be his girlfriend’s. He said that when the homeowner confronted him, he realized he had snuck into the wrong house and left.

After talking with Tinieh, Deputy Mieure spoke to the complainant, who informed him she was asleep when her dogs started barking. The complainant stated that when she walked into the living room to see what the dogs were barking at, she saw a young adult male standing in the hallway by her children's bedroom.

The complainant stated she confronted the suspect, who was identified as Tinieh. He apologized for being in the residence and told her it was a mistake. The complainant stated that Tinieh ran out of the back slider door and jumped the back fence.

At the time of this incident, the complainant said they didn’t want to press charges, and Tinieh was released without further incident.

On 5/29/24, the complainant contacted the sheriff's office and stated that they changed their mind and wanted to press charges.

On 6/6/24, Tinieh was located and arrested for an unrelated incident. Tinieh was booked into Uintah County Jail for one count of criminal trespassing on a dwelling, and later released.
