A Male Records Assaulting His Girlfriend With His Phone

Vernal, Ut.— On March 12th, 2024, Cpl Pummell was dispatched to the Vernal Police Department for a complaint of domestic assault.

At the police department, Cpl Pummell spoke with the victim, who stated she was at the home of 47-year-old Dennis Bryan Buist.

During the night, Dennis got upset, took out his phone, and started recording. The victim said she was on the couch when Dennis walked upstairs, rambling about her being at the residence.

When the victim would try to say anything, Dennis would tell her to "Shut the fuck up" and that he wanted to "Punch her in the face."

During the recording, Dennis clearly puts his foot onto the victim's face and smashes her head into the couch cushion. The victim stated when this happened, she couldn't pull her head out from under Dennis's foot.

She said she tried to leave the residence, but Dennis slapped her in the face.

Cpl Pummell arranged a meeting with Dennis later that evening. At about 10:00 pm, they met at Jubilee, where Dennis was asked about the incident.

Dennis said that he did put his foot on the victim's head, and the officer asked him why he would do that. Dennis stated to make the victim leave the residence. Dennis denied he slapped the victim.

Dennis was transported to the Uintah County Jail for domestic violence.
