Deputy Elmer with the Uintah County Sheriff's Office received a call that 26-year-old Randlett man Caleb Lance Jarmen had pulled a gun on his wife and had left the area.

When deputies arrived, they saw that the victim was stuck in a ditch with her three children.

The victim stated that she and her husband Caleb had gotten into an argument when he was going to be home after taking his brother (Gill Franklyn Jarman) to turn himself into the police at the Uintah County Jail. It is known that Caleb and his brother have a history of drug use.

Caleb became frustrated with his wife and blocked her from contacting him.

When the victim became worried about Caleb's well-being after spending time with her children at the splash park, she contacted her sister-in-law to see if she knew of Caleb's whereabouts. The victim's sister-in-law had told her that she believed they were in the Randlett area, so the victim went to find him.

The victim found Caleb in Randlett and followed him down a dirt road that led to 14000 E 6000 S, where she tried to get him to stop and talk to him. Caleb pulled over, exited the truck, and another argument started.

Caleb then got back into his vehicle and started to turn his truck around, and so did the victim. Once they were parallel to each other, the victim observed Caleb pull out a handgun and rack it while being a few yards away.

The victim was scared for her children's safety and her own and attempted to turn her vehicle around as fast as she could. At this point, the victim ended up getting stuck in a ditch off the side of the road and told her children to get down and tried to get out of the ditch.

The victim was so scared that she thought she was going to be shot when she saw Caleb get out of his truck. She tried to get lower inside the car.

While the victim was curled up with her arms and hands covering her head, she could Caleb out of the corner of her eye that he walked up to the car, and then walked back to his truck, and drove off. She then called 9-1-1.

After gathering this information, the deputies began a search for Caleb.

On June 20, 2025, Caleb Jarman was located and placed under arrest for an active statewide warrant and then transported back to the Uintah County Sheriff's Department.

While searching for Caleb, he had a drug pipe in his left sock.

During the interview with Caleb, he admitted to the use of illegal drugs along with grabbing a handgun and showing it to the victim through the windshield due to him losing control and wanting the victim to leave him alone.

Caleb then stated that when the victim crashed, he left the gun on his seat, approached the victim’s car, and then got back into his truck and left the area.

Caleb Jarman is being charged with:

Aggravated Assault DV 3rd Degree Felony, for utilizing a dangerous weapon as a threat of violence. Along with three 3rd Degree Felony charges for the commission of DV in the presence of a child, with all three children being present in the vehicle during the time of the incident. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked in for his active warrants.
