At around 10 pm, a domestic violence call came in from the Cedar Springs Marina at Flaming Gorge in Dagget County.

Deputy Guymon arrived at the Marina and began searching for the boat on which the incident had taken place.

The deputy located the boat, and the owner, 53-year-old Matthew Ryan Lemm, along with Deputy Harrison, arrived and found the female who had reported the incident.

The female had blood on her face and was actively bleeding from her knee and a finger. She told the deputy that she and Matthew had been out boating and drinking when they got into an argument that turned into a physical altercation.

The female stated she had thrown ice at Matthew, and when she did this, he lost his temper. Matthew held her down and punched her repeatedly on her back, the back of her head, and neck.

When she tried to call for help, Matthew took her phone and threw it. When she eventually found the phone, she was too afraid to call 911, fearing Matthew would hear and get violent again.

The woman sent a text to 911, and the two deputies responded. Right before Deputy Guymon arrived, she texted dispatch saying that Mathew knew she was texting the police and was going to drive the boat away from the Marina with her still inside.

Deputy Guymon found the boat before the engine could start and told Matthew to exit the boat and talk to him on the dock that separated the two parties.

Deputy Harrison then spoke to Matthew about the incident, and he stated that the female had thrown ice at him, hitting him in the face. He said he overreacted but wouldn't go into any details.

Matthew was asked if he held the female down, and he said he didn't remember.

After the investigation, it was determined that Matthew was the predominant aggressor, and was placed under arrest and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
