Vernal, Ut.- On 4/7/23, Trooper Searle was patrolling SR-40 near mile marker 140 when he saw a red Dodge Charger traveling East passing multiple vehicles. The Trooper's front radar confirmed the car's speed to be 85 mph.

Trooper Searle conducted a traffic stop near 2100 West in Vernal and explained the reason for the stop to the driver. The driver was identified as 29-year-old Stephanie Maria Moser from her Utah driver's license.

During their conversation, the Trooper detected the odor of marijuana coming from her vehicle. He asked Moser and the male passenger if they had a medical marijuana card, and they both informed the Trooper they did not.

The Trooper searched the vehicle and found a broken THC vape cartridge in the center console below the stereo. Inside the center console was a grinder covered in a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana, a rubber container with a brown wax with the odor of marijuana, and several clear packages containing psychedelic mushrooms. A THC vape pen was between the front passenger seat and the center console.

The Trooper asked Moser whose marijuana products were in the vehicle, and she stated they were hers. She said she had purchased the mushrooms, and they were intended to be used by her and the passenger.

While talking with the male passenger, he stated the marijuana was not his and he didn't know about the mushrooms.

At around 8:00 pm, Stephanie Moser was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (Psychedelic Mushrooms), possession of a controlled substance (Marijuana), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Moser was transported to the Uintah County Jail, where she was booked in without incident.
