Vernal, Ut.- On 3/28/23, VPD was dispatched to a 911 unknown call, and when they arrived, a male subject reported that he had been in an altercation with his 27-year-old daughter.
The male identified himself as 52-year-old Danny Leroy Memmott.
Danny reported he was upset that she left around 04:00 without letting them know and didn't return for over an hour. He said this altercation continued throughout the day, and at one point, his daughter was packing her belongings to leave when Danny grabbed a blanket that belonged to his daughter and told her she was not taking it.
Danny said they were standing about two feet apart when his daughter hit him in the face. Danny then shoved her to the ground.
The female stated she was packing her belongings to leave the residence when Danny grabbed her blanket and told her she couldn't take it. She said that's when she hit Danny in the face.
Based on what Danny reported, he was arguing with his daughter. During the altercation, he continued the argument even after the victim was packing to leave and grabbed her belongings so she couldn't take them and leave.
Cpl Pummell felt Danny was the primary aggressor in the altercation and arrested Danny for one count of domestic violence assault.
