Roosevelt, Ut.- On 3/19/23, at around 11:40 pm, a vehicle was traveling on 200 E with no lights. Officer Christensen made a traffic stop on the vehicle, and as soon as he walked up to the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana came from the vehicle.

The Officer had the driver exit the vehicle, and she identified herself as 35-year-old Mamie Leona Joseph.

Mamie stated she had some warrants, and upon searching her vehicle, the Officers found an open container just behind the passenger seat. They also found a plastic makeup container that had some marijuana inside of it.

Dispatch confirmed Mamie had 5 active warrants, a denied driver's license, and was supposed to have an interlock device in her vehicle. There was no interlock device in her vehicle. She also had no insurance.

Mamie was asked when she last used marijuana, and she stated that it was about three hours ago. The Officers had her stick out her tongue, and Mamie's tongue had a yellowish color which is consistent with using marijuana.

Mamie is also on with AP&P, and upon contacting them, they said she had been a fugitive for a while.

Mamie Joseph was transported to the UBMC for medical clearance, then taken to the Duchesne County Jail to be booked in on her new charges and warrants.

Mamie Joseph is being held without bail.
