At 3:22 PM, a female driving a GMC Acadia pulled into the Roosevelt Police Department's parking lot, whom police recognized as 35-year-old Minnie Amelia Gutierrez.
Officer Bellon, who saw her pull into the parking lot and was looking for Minnie to speak with her about a trespassing case she is a suspect in, asked her if she needed any help. She said she came here because she was told the police were looking for her.
The officer told her he was looking to notify her of a trespass. Minnie stated that she thought another agency was also looking for her. Officer Bellon had her wait while he checked. He informed her that no other agency was looking for her and her driver's license was suspended.
He asked Minnie several times who owned the GMC she was driving. She responded with "my friends" or "he is my sugar daddy."
Minnie was issued a citation for driving while suspended. While writing the citation, the officer asked again who the vehicle belonged to, and she stated, "It's my friend's." When asked who her friend was, she said "Joe." She said he was her sugar daddy.
Minnie was released at this time, and the vehicle was left where Minnie had parked it behind the police department.
Later that day, the GMC Acadia was reported stolen by the owner, who stated that she went to work in the morning and, around 6 PM, she went to leave work, only to find that her car was gone. They reviewed the camera footage where she saw a bigger woman get into her vehicle and drive off.
On 07/18/2025 at approximately 6 AM, Officer Arnold located Minnie and placed her under arrest and transported her to the hospital for a medical clearance. While there, she was read her Miranda Rights and interviewed.
Minnie stated that she picked up the vehicle that morning and also mentioned that someone was threatening "Joe," which is why he reported it stolen.
After getting a medical clearance, Minnie Gutierrez was transported to the Duchesne County Jail.
