Traumatic eBike Accident Tied to Theft in Denver, Colorado

Naples, Utah (6/16/26)—Law enforcement responded to a traumatic eBike accident at approximately 1070 E 620 S in Naples, Utah.

Uintah County deputies arrived to assist Gold Cross Ambulance with Eric Osborn, who had crashed his eBike and was experiencing shoulder pain.

The deputies checked the eBike's serial number, and Dispatch confirmed an NCIC entry from Denver, Colorado, indicating the bike was stolen. Osborn was taken to Ashley Regional Medical Center for further evaluation, while the deputies seized the eBike for its rightful owner.

Officer Putnam arrived at Ashley Regional Medical Center around 9 PM to interview Osborn about how he acquired the eBike. Osborn claimed he purchased it from a woman in Denver, but could not provide details. He was informed that the bike had been stolen and that he would face charges for possessing stolen property.

While Osborn was lying in the hospital bed, police searched him and discovered a small, black baggie in his front left pocket, containing a white, crystalline substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

Additionally, Osborn had a black backpack, which he mentioned contained marijuana. An initial search did not find the marijuana, but a subsequent search at the jail successfully located it.

Osborn was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Uintah County Jail, where he was booked on charges of theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
