A Uintah County man was arrested before he could finish his plan of murder suicide

5-13-25

| Maeser, Ut. | May 12th, 2025 |

An individual reported to the police that 57-year-old Quentin Ray Johnson told them that Quentin was going to kill his wife and then himself.

The individual stated that Quentin did have a firearm with him in the truck and didn't think the victim was aware that Quentin was on his way to the residence.

Uintah County Deputies met in the area of 3500 West and 2500 North after it was confirmed by the complainant, who was following Quentin, that they were passing the location of Remember Main Park.

Deputy Russell saw the described vehicle pass his location and began to follow the truck for a short distance and met with Sgt Cottam, at which point a felony traffic stop on Quentin's vehicle was conducted in the area of 1600 North 3500 West.

Quentin was ordered out of his vehicle at gunpoint and was detained for further investigation.

Deputies spoke with Quentin, and he admitted that there was, in fact, a loaded .22 revolver in the truck.

After speaking with the complainant, it was confirmed that Quentin had stated that he was going to Maeser to kill the victim and then himself.

Quentin was taken to Uintah County Jail by Deputy Russell and was later booked on one count of domestic violence with threats of violence.
