Several Native American clothing items were stolen out of a storage unit in Roosevelt

On April 19, 2023, at 4:00 PM, a burglary was reported at a storage unit in Roosevelt, Utah where several Native American clothing items were stolen.


The victim stated she went to her storage unit and noticed her locks were gone, and when she opened the door, she found things missing.


Some of the Native American items were, a shawl white/with rose, light and dark blue shawls, red, white, green, purple, yellow, orange shawls, fully beaded moccasin white with design, ankle-high beaded floral light blue moccasin, fully beaded dark blue moccasin, two smoked tan beaded moccasin, beaded hair pins yellow with rose and blue with roses, bag of other color hair pins, neckless blue with eagles, neckless with white rose to name some of the items.


The victim stated between 4/19/2023 and 5/16/2023 she discovered some of her stolen items at Jiffy’s Pawn Shop in Roosevelt.


Information was collected from the pawn shop regarding the transactions of the victim's identified stolen items. In the pawn shop's information, it was discovered that on 04/12/2023, an individual pawned $160 worth of Native American clothing. This same person also pawned $142 worth of items on 4/17/2025.


During an interview with this individual on 5/23/23. She stated she went to a friend's home in Ballard, where she was given the Native American items to pawn and that she could keep some of the money.


This individual stated she pawned the items but didn't know where they were stolen until she pawned them. In this individual's voluntary witness statement, she stated Shane told her he stole five totes of native jewelry and clothes from someone native.


It was also learned from the pawn shop's information that another individual pawned $1730 worth of various Native American clothing on three occasions on April 12 and twice on April 17.


In her voluntary witness statement, she stated the items in question were brought into the residence where she was staying at the time by a male and female. This individual said she was asleep when the stolen items were brought into the house, so she didn't know who brought them.


This female said Shane and the male and female asked if she would go into the pawn shop because she had an ID.


On 5/1/2025, the Roosevelt Police Department contacted 33-year-old Shane Daniel Dixon at his apartment.


Shane told police he didn't know anything about the stolen Native American clothing and didn't want to continue the interview.


AP&P in Roosevelt had information that Shane was avoiding law enforcement and was planning to flee to Texas. He even shipped his truck to Texas in an attempt to make it seem like he wasn't in the area.
