Roosevelt Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault For Choking His Wife

Roosevelt, Ut.- On 5/5/23, at around 7:00 pm, Officer Knight was dispatched to a report of domestic violence at the 155 West 200 North apartments.

Upon arrival, Officer Knight met with the victim and stated that her husband, 54-year-old Eric Kenneth Edmondson, had been physically violent toward her. She said Eric grabbed her around the throat, and she couldn't breathe.

The victim stated that Eric then scratched her neck, pulled her hair, and hit the back of her head. Eric told her this time because “She would be dead before the cops got to her,” while he was strangling her.

The Officer noticed the victim did have red marks consistent with the scratches on her neck and upper chest.

Officer Knight Spoke with Eric, and he stated the victim had "freaked out" and started to hit him, and was acting all sorts of crazy. Eric said he tried pushing her away because she was punching him.

The Officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Eric, and he had difficulty maintaining his balance. Eric admitted to drinking a half pint of alcohol.

Eric Edmondson was placed under arrest for aggravated assault and domestic violence and transported to the UBMC to receive a medical clearance and then to the Duchesne County Jail.
