Roosevelt man accused of raping an 18-year-old female

At around 10:30 pm, Deputy Borrelli responded to a rape that was reported at the Uintah Basin Medical Center (UBMC) in Roosevelt, Ut.
The deputy met with the 18-year-old female victim in a medical room where she told Deputy Borelli on 10/4/24, around 8:30 in the morning, she was at home when a male acquaintance, 57-year-old Raymond Lee Crawford, walked in, catching her in the act alone.
When Raymond saw what she was doing, he said, "Let's fuck."
The victim told him no she did not want to, but Raymond forced himself on her.
The deputy asked the victim if she had her clothes on, and she replied that she had taken them off because she feared Raymond. She said Raymond had done this to her last Wednesday (10-2-2024) and is known to yell a lot or be aggressive.
The victim stated she feared she would be harmed if she did not remove her clothes. She stated while Raymond was doing his thing she told him to stop and that she did not want to have sex.
She stated the reason she did not try pulling away was because she was in fear and was not able to kick due to her legs being held. The victim stated the assault lasted approximately 30 minutes.
The victim provided a witness statement which was secured along with her clothes in Deputy Borrelli’s patrol vehicle.
Raymond was last seen in the waiting room at UBMC with his wife. She stated that Raymond was currently sleeping inside the truck in the parking lot. She called Raymond, and Deputy Borrelli met him outside.
The deputy asked Raymond what happened between the victim and him on the morning of 10/4/24. He stated that that morning, he walked in on the victim, who had a blanket covering herself. She pulled the blanket off, revealing her pants being unzipped. He left the room, and that was it; nothing else happened.
When asked what happened after he left, he stated nothing until he was accused of this. Raymond only answered further questions, saying nothing had happened.
Raymond was placed under arrest and transported to the Duchesne County Jail where he was booked for rape. Further criminal charges are pending at this time.
