Man gets arrested for shoplifting sandwiches from Maverik

(Naples, Ut. 2/26/2026) Officer Beatty was dispatched to the Naples Maverik on a shoplifting that occurred around 5:30 AM.

The officer met with the store manager, who told him that 37-year-old Brandon Steven Boyer had stolen breakfast sandwiches from the food warmer. The Manager played the security footage that showed a male in a black jacket and a gray hoodie grab an item from the food warmer, place it in his jacket pocket, then later take another item from the food warmer and put it in his other jacket pocket.

Based on prior law enforcement interactions, Officer Beatty positively identified Brandon in the video as the person who stole the items. There was also a witness who saw the incident. She stated that she watched Brandon place two breakfast sandwiches into his pockets.

The Manager stated that Boyer did not pay for any items before leaving the store and that the maximum cost of the items taken would be $14 or less. The officer conducted a background check on Brandon, which revealed previous felony theft convictions within the last 10 years.

Officer Beatty sent out a message to local law enforcement agencies that he was looking for Brandon Boyer.

The next day, Sgt. Gray located Brandon, arrested him, and took him to the Uintah County Jail.

Officer Beatty met with Brandon at the jail, but he refused to speak with the officer.
