At around 6:00 pm, Officer Murray was dispatched to a residence for a domestic dispute. The female reported that 46-year-old Charles Fredrick Pedersen was assaulting her.
Upon arrival, the officer saw the female speaking with AP&P officers in the driveway. The female stated that Charles came to pick up their daughter, and she let him inside, but when he asked to talk, the victim repeatedly asked Charles to leave.
After refusing multiple requests, Charles became angry, grabbed the laptop they owned, and ran out the door. The victim chased him to his truck, demanding he return the laptop, which had essential documents that the victim needed.
Charles refused, and when the victim tried to retrieve the laptop, he shoved her into the truck and then pushed her away before driving off.
The victim had visible injuries, including scratches on her chest, redness on her arms, and a bruise on her lower left shin.
A witness told Officer Murray that they saw the altercation and confirmed that Charles slammed the victim against the truck and hit her. The victim admitted to grabbing Charles to get the laptop back.
In a follow-up interview, Charles admitted to taking the laptop and pushing the victim, both inside the house and at the truck, but claimed he was just trying to leave.
Charles Pedersen was arrested and booked into the Uintah County Jail.
