A female reported to the police that she and her boyfriend had gotten into an argument, and he threatened to burn down their apartment and sent her pictures of the stove on fire.
Officer Escobedo called the female, who stated she wasn't at the apartment at the time of the incident but interacted with her boyfriend over the phone while at another residence.
The woman identified her boyfriend as 24-year-old Bryan Don Chastain.
The female told the officer the reason why Bryan threatened to burn down the apartment was because she was going to end the relationship. Bryan sent the female pictures of their stove through text messages, and she showed them to the officer.
Officer Escobedo observed in the screenshots messages that appeared to be from Bryan, which consisted of a picture of vegetable oil, a picture of their stove top with the coils appearing to be red hot, and a picture of one coil on fire.
In the text messages, immediately after sending a picture of the oil, Bryan stated, "See this" and "All over the stove it goes," followed by a picture of a stove top burner coil smoking.
There was also a text from Bryan telling the female, “Almost there, have your step daddy ready, imma fuck shit up when I get there.”
Officer Escobedo called Bryan, and he told the officer he and his girlfriend had been arguing, and he told her that he didn't want to be alone, so he was going to burn the apartment down.
Bryan Chastain was arrested for the offense of threat of violence and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
Bryan Don Chastain may post bail in the amount of $690.00.
