Duchesne, Ut.- On 7/29/23, Duchesne County Deputies checked for wanted people on the warrants list in the Duchesne City area.

44-year-old Kyle Blain Honeycutt had two state-wide warrants for his arrest. The Deputies saw a vehicle in the driveway that belonged to Kyle because he was previously arrested in the same vehicle.

The Deputies knocked on the door, and a female answered the door, and when the door opened, a powerful odor of marijuana came from inside the residence. They asked the female if Kyle was there, and she went and got him.

Kyle came to the front door and was advised that he had two state-wide warrants and was under arrest. Kyle began to argue, and Deputy Cox went to grab onto his arm, and Kyle pulled away.

Kyle continued to argue and pull his arms away from the Deputies. Cox latched onto his right arm, and Kyle tensed up and pulled his other arm away. The other Deputies assisted, and they placed Kyle into handcuffs and transported him to the Duchesne County Jail.

Deputy Cox spoke with the female, who stated there were two children inside, ages 6 and 16. She was advised that the Deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home. The female also argued about the odor coming from the home and then stated that Kyle probably has marijuana because he is in the process of getting a medical card.

The female stated the marijuana would be in his room. Deputy Cox submitted a search warrant on the home, which was approved. The search warrant was served on the female, and the Deputies told her that they didn't want to wake the children and would have her go through the house with them to locate Kyle's marijuana.

Deputy Cox found several items consistent with THC dabs, pipes, containers with marijuana blunts, bongs, and more. The next room was the living room. The female stated Kyle keeps marijuana items in the drawer near the TV.

Cox found several more items of marijuana within reach of a child. There were also two other marijuana dab containers on the coffee table next to where the 6-year-old was sleeping on the couch.

All the items were collected and booked for evidence. Deputy Cox attempted to speak with Kyle at the jail, but he refused to say anything.
