Vernal, Ut.- On 2/10/23, Officer Elmer was dispatched to a domestic that occurred at the Split Mountain Village at 600 South 393 East.
Officers arrived and separated both parties, and spoke with the female. It was learned that they had both been drinking, and 42-year-old Justin Michael Robert Koski grabbed and choked the female while they were in their bedroom and then took her down to the ground in the closet.
One of the children witnessed the event and intervened by hitting Justin on the back to get him to stop him from choking the female. The Officers could see visible red abrasions around her neck where she was choked.
When talking with Justin about the incident, who was found in the bed inside the house, he explained there was arguing and some shoving back and forth.
With witness statements from multiple parties, Justin was found to be the predominant aggressor in this incident.
Justin was arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail for domestic violence assault and domestic violence in the presence of children x2.
It was also learned that Justin had taken the female's phone so that she couldn't call 911. He was also charged with interference with a communication device.
Justin Koski's bail is set at $3,700
