Vernal, Utah—At 9 pm, on March 5th, 2026, Sgt. Watt received a criminal mischief call at Davis Food and Drug regarding someone who had spray-painted or tagged the walls in the men's bathroom.

One of the managers took Sgt. Watt into the men's public restroom where two walls inside a stall had been spray-painted in black, and had the initials "ERA" sprayed next to their artwork.

An employee stated he went on break at 7:45 pm and went into the men's bathroom. He stated that the stall door was closed and locked, and someone was inside. At the time, he did not notice the odor of paint. The employee left, then returned to the bathroom at approximately 8:15 pm, when he noticed the odor of paint and the fresh, tacky paint on the stall walls, which he reported to the manager.

The initials "ERA" were similar to those in other recent vandalism cases involving the same initials, as well as to other painted letters in similar styles. At this time, the manager present did not have access to the video surveillance cameras, so a request was made to obtain any available video footage.

On 3/9/2026, Sgt. Watt received video surveillance from Davis Food and Drug and observed the male suspect walking toward the bathroom. The officer followed up with the manager and was informed that one of the employees recognized the suspect, but only knew him as Vincent.

Through a local search of the name, Sgt. Watt determined that the suspect was 37-year-old Vincent Scott Webb. Vincent was found to be on felony parole with Agent Ercanbrack. The agent reviewed some surveillance footage and confirmed it was him. He also confirmed the vehicle in the surveillance as being Vincent's car. Agent Ercanbrack also reviewed video surveillance from a separate graffiti case, and Vincent was determined to be the suspect in that incident as well. He has previously searched Vincent's vehicle and found cans of spray paint inside it.

On 3/13/2026, Sgt. Watt met with AP&P, who was doing a home visit with Vincent. Agent Ercanbrack searched Vincent's phone and found numerous photos of graffiti featuring "ERA." Some of the photos observed were later verified as having already been reported to the police.

Sgt. Watt explained to Vincent what he was investigating, and during the interview, Vincent acknowledged that he had committed the graffiti vandalism at Davis Food and Drug.

AP&P searched Vincent's bedroom and found the clothing he was wearing in two separate cases. They also located drawings with the initials "ERA" on them. During a search of his car, multiple items of evidence were found linking Vincent to a few other reported vandalism cases that occurred over the course of about two months.

When asked what the initials "ERA" stood for, Vincent stated that it was just the word "era" and referred to a graffiti artist. One of the notebooks located by AP&P in his bedroom had the letters "ERA," but also indicated that it was an acronym for "Everyone Respects Art." In reference to this and several other related cases, Vincent Webb was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Vincent was booked into jail instead of just being cited and released due to the number of other related cases that he will be charged with, including at least one felony case, and due to Vincent being held on a parole violation hold and possibly being further held and or transported back to prison by the Board of Pardons.

Vincent was booked in and charged with one count of graffiti, a Class B misdemeanor.
