On May 6th, 2024, Deputy Roth arrived at the scene on the report of an assault. He spoke with the victim, who was out on her front porch being seen by medical personnel. The deputy noticed that she had significant swelling on her lower lip and could smell the odor of alcohol coming from her person.
The victim explained that they had been lying in bed, and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Clinton Adam Lee, became upset that he wasn't feeling like the victim and was appreciative of his landscaping business. At this point, they began to argue verbally.
The victim said during their argument, Clint got on top of her while on the bed and began hitting her in the face. She described putting her hands up to cover her face and started yelling at him to stop. At this point, the victim's 12-year-old son came upstairs and found Clint beating his mother.
The victim said she got up and told her son everything was okay and to go back downstairs. After her son went downstairs, the fight started again, and she tried to deflect the situation. She went into the kitchen and sat on the kitchen counter.
The victim said Clint followed her into the kitchen and began yelling at her, saying that her son was a bitch and it was because she raised him to be that way. The victim’s son returned upstairs and began yelling at Clint, telling him to stop yelling at his mom.
The victim then said she believed she had been hit again and could only remember ending up on the kitchen floor. She explained that Clint had left the home with his child, an additional child who was in the home at the time of the incident.
Attempts were made to contact Clint, and Deputy Roth spoke to his attorney, who provided him with a verbal statement from Clint. Deputy Roth was informed that Clint would not be meeting with him. While this case remained active, Clint had been served with a temporary protective order.
On 6/30/2024, Clint was located and arrested on a separate domestic incident with the same victim and was booked into the Uintah County Jail. Due to Clint being located, Deputy Roth went to jail and booked him on the active case from 5/6/2024, on One Count Assault (Domestic Violence) and Two Counts of Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child.
The current offense is a Domestic Violence offense. The court finds substantial evidence to support the charge and finds clear and convincing evidence that Clinton Adam Lee would constitute a substantial danger to an alleged victim of domestic violence if released on bail.
Therefore, the court orders that Clinton Adam Lee is to be held without bail.
