| Altamont, Ut. | June 14th, 2025 |

A young teenage girl called 9-1-1, saying 39-year-old Simon Peter Bosch had hit her 11-year-old brother with a belt, hit him, and that Simon was drunk.

When deputies arrived, the suspect had left the residence and refused to return.

Deputies spoke with the children. The 11-year-old boy is also Autistic, and the incident occurred due to an issue in the house over new beds.

Cpl. Cox was made aware of the incident, and at around 10:30 a.m., Simon called dispatch, stating that he had been told officers were looking for him.

Cpl. Cox spoke with Simon, and he said that he was back at the residence in Altamont.

The deputy arrived at Simon’s residence and spoke with him. He said that he bought new beds and has been having problems with his son, primarily due to his Autism. His son wouldn't listen to what he was saying, and they began to wrestle because his son is a large kid.

Simon claimed he never threw him to the ground but did say he hit him with a cloth belt. Simon's wife was also at the residence, but he said she was not inside when the incident occurred.

Cpl. Cox spoke with his wife, who said that Simon was out of control last night because of drinking.

She said that when he is drinking, he becomes a big problem, and last night when this occurred, she opened the door, and he had destroyed and trashed the house and then left out of the door on foot.

The son had marks on his back and face and bruises on his legs. Cpl. Cox took photos of the injuries. He told the deputy the injuries were from his dad hitting him with the belt and also said to him that his head was feeling better today.

Simon was arrested for child abuse of a child with a disability and transported to the Duchesne County Jail.
