Deputy Fairey had been advised that 37-year-old Trenton Troy Lopez was wanted on two outstanding warrants and had been seen in the 1500 E 4000 S area.

The deputy saw a subject he recognized as Trenton standing near a pickup. As the deputy approached in his vehicle, Trenton ducked down behind the truck out of view.

Deputy Fairey called Trenton to come out from behind the vehicle, to which he complied and was taken into custody. While interacting with Trenton, the odor of alcohol and marijuana was detected coming from his person.

Trenton stated that he wasn't trying to hide and had ducked behind the truck to finish drinking a beer before going to jail. Trenton was asked about items in his pockets and stated that he had a cell phone and lighters. An object was located in a cargo pocket on Trenton's right leg.

Before removing the object, Deputy Fairey asked Trenton about it, and Trenton stated that it was a pipe.

The item was retrieved and observed to be a yellow-colored glass marijuana pipe with burnt marijuana residue in the bowl of the pipe and smelled of marijuana.

Trenton was booked into the Uintah County Jail.

The glass pipe was booked into evidence at the sheriff's office and has been submitted for testing to confirm the existence of illegal drugs.

Trenton Troy Lopez may post bail in the amount of $1,380.00.
