Police make a felony traffic stop on a 64-year-old male. During booking, a meth pipe fall from his pants.

Vernal, Utah (4/10/26)—Deputy Cheshire was parked watching traffic near 1500 E 450 N when a vehicle with one headlight approached the “T” intersection at 1500 E 500 N, where it turned West and failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming vehicle also going West.
The deputy caught up to the vehicle to make a traffic stop, but the driver failed to pull over despite activating the right turn signal. The deputy then activated his siren and continued following the vehicle westbound on 500 N at approximately 35 mph. The speed limit of the road was 35 mph.
The driver continued westbound on 500 North and approached the intersection of 500 East. The driver then turned southbound onto 500 East from 500 North, then westbound onto 200 North from 500 East.
The driver continued westbound on 200 North, stopping at the intersection of Vernal Avenue before proceeding across. The pursuit continued to 500 West, where the driver turned south and was blocked by assisting deputies and officers. The driver's speed was around 30 mph in residential areas.
The driver, identified as 64-year-old Jeffrie Lynn Shipman, was taken into custody at gunpoint. He complied with commands to lie face down on the roadway. Shipman was known to officers from previous encounters. His vehicle was inventoried for felony evading.
During booking at the Uintah County Jail, corrections deputies observed a suspected methamphetamine pipe fall from Shipman's groin area. The glass pipe contained suspected methamphetamine residue. Shipman admitted to having methamphetamine packages also in his groin area, and two baggies of methamphetamine were retrieved from between his buttocks and groin area in a secure restroom.
A records check revealed Mr. Shipman's driver's license was suspended, and he had an outstanding warrant from the 8th District Court with no bail amount. His criminal history showed numerous previous drug charges, elevating the current possession of methamphetamine to a 3rd-degree felony.
Mr. Shipman was booked into jail on charges of felony evading, 3rd-degree felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, failure to yield right-of-way, and the outstanding warrant from the 8th District Court.
