The officer informed the resident that he needed to speak with Andrew now! Andrew came to the door and slammed it shut. Officer Knight knocked again; Andrew opened the door and asked what he wanted.


The officer informed Andrew that he was under arrest for property damage and domestic violence. Andrew yelled through the door that he would come out if he spoke with another officer.


Andrew agreed to step outside and let another officer speak with him. He stepped outside, and was placed in handcuffs and into a patrol vehicle.


Andrew Ames was placed under arrest for property damage, domestic violence, and failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer. Andrew Ames was transported to Duchesne County Jail and later released.


On May 12th, 2024, Officer Knight was dispatched to a report of a domestic incident in Roosevelt. When arriving on scene, the victim was sitting on the home's front porch. The victim stated Andrew Ames was arrested yesterday, and a jail release agreement was in place.


It was verified that the jail release agreement was in place by Officer Knight.


The victim said that Andrew was released from jail around 3:00 am. Officer Knight, who was the arresting officer in the previous case, received a call from the jail that Andrew had been released around that time.


The victim stated that Andrew had called her asking for a ride, and around 6:00 am, Andrew came to her residence screaming he was going to kill her. She also mentioned that Andrew took her car keys, got into her car, and left.


Officer Knight spoke with the victim around 3:00 pm, and she stated that throughout the day, Andrew had made several calls to her. The calls start at 3:00 am to later that afternoon.


Andrew arrived at the police station around 4:30 p.m., and the victim was in the vehicle with him.


Andrew Ames was arrested and transported to the Duchesne County Jail where he is being held without bail.
