Vernal, Utah (4/12/26)—Deputy McDavid was dispatched to a residence for a domestic incident. The information given at the time was a male calling, saying his wife was slapping the shit out of him.

The deputy arrived on the scene shortly after the call and observed a man seated in a chair on the residence's front porch.

Deputy McDavid walked up to the man and could see he had blood on both sides of his face, and asked what had happened. He informed the deputy that he had had an argument with his wife the night prior, and then continued to the present day. He told Deputy McDavid he had said something to his wife, and she asked him to say it again, so he did.

It was at this point that his wife began slapping him, and he went outside to the front porch and called the police.

Deputy McDavid then spoke with the female, who was identified as 44-year-old Kindra Lee Atwood, who was distraught, crying, breathing rapidly, and talking in short bursts.

The deputy asked Kindra to elaborate on the argument she and her husband had earlier. She stated that her husband drinks too much, and it caused a huge argument. She was then asked about the incident that led to the injuries on her husband's face.

Kindra initially stated that the injuries on his face happened before he came into the kitchen. The deputy then proceeded to ask her what had happened in the kitchen, and she stated that her husband had accused her of cheating.

Kindra then stated that her husband accused her of sleeping with her stepson. She then told her husband to say that again. Kindra stated her husband rushed toward her, and said it again, pushing her into the pantry door. She put her hands by her sides, stating she did not know what happened next.

Deputy McDavid asked Kindra if she had sustained any injuries from the incident, to which she replied she had not.

The deputy returned to ask the husband about his rushing toward his wife, to which the husband replied that he had done no such thing. He claimed that they were standing between the couch and the hallway when he attempted to walk away from the situation and sit on the couch.

The deputy then returned to speak with Kindra and again asked her about the marks on her husband's face, and Kindra stated she was unsure where they had come from.

Kindra was told that she was being placed under arrest. She stood up, and the deputy put her in handcuffs. She was then transported to the Uintah County Jail and booked for assault.
