Vernal, Ut.- On 4/14/23, Cpl. Pummell was dispatched to a burglary at the K&M Storage Units at 964 East Hwy 40. When he arrived, and spoke to the victim, who reported she was checking her storage unit, and saw that her stuff was missing.

Some discarded items and letters left behind in the victim's unit belonged to some people she didn't know.

The victim reported she was missing some antic furniture and various items she had collected over the years from family and she had bought. It was estimated the amount of missing items to be worth $5000.

Cpl. Pummell was able to trace the mail that was left behind at the storage unit and contacted the male subject and also his wife. The two were identified as 55-year-old Michael G. Sills and 51-year-old Robin Lorraine Sills.

Cpl. Pummell contacted Michael at the Antlers Motel in Vernal, Utah. Michael asked Pummell into his room and the Cpl. Saw some of the stolen items the victim had described.

Cpl. Pummell asked Michael about the storage unit, and he said he was moving items belonging to one to one of the people whose papers were recovered to move into that unit. Michael said when he opened the unit, he said whoever owned this unit had left their stuff.

Michael first said that he thought the unit belonged to his friend and thought taking the items inside was okay. Michael admitted to entering the storage unit and removing some of the property.

Michael then turned over a barbecue that was outside his room and a metal table and chairs he had placed outside the Antler's Office to Cpl. Pummell.

Michael and Robin Sills were arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail.

I found a third person involved in this:
