At around 8:00 am, Vernal City Police were dispatched to the Ashley Regional Medical Center (ARMC), where a combative patient was threatening medical staff, throwing food, and slamming doors.

When Officer Nielsen arrived at the hospital, he observed a female in one of the ER rooms. The female shut the door, where there was food and water all over the floor. The officer started to speak with the female, who began to get agitated and yell.

The female was asked to stop yelling multiple times when she started to clench her fist and walk toward the hospital bed. Due to the female's demeanor, she was placed into handcuffs for her and the medical staff's safety. The female began to calm down and allowed the medical staff to give her medication to help with her outbursts.

Sgt. Cannon identified the female as 38-year-old Elizabeth Amanda Hatch Alcott based on previous encounters with her.

Due to Elizabeth's being unsure about her health, she was cited and released into the care of the Medical Staff at ARMC.

Around 1:50 pm, Officer Nielsen was dispatched back to ARMC to a female who had left her room after being pink-sheeted for her mental health. Sgt. Cannon located the female in the north parking lot of ARMC. It was Elizabeth Hatch Alcott from the previous encounter. After speaking with medical staff, who stated Elizabeth had started to throw things again, she got up and left.

Elizabeth was placed into handcuffs, secured into Officer McCurdy's vehicle, and transported to the Uintah County Jail.

Elizabeth was booked into the Uintah County Jail for disorderly conduct after being asked to cease and having one previous conviction for disorderly conduct within the last five years. The attending physician at ARMC also pink-sheeted Elizabeth.
