Deputy Anderton with the Uintah County Sheriff’s Department responded to a domestic call in Tridell. When arriving at the residence, the deputy spoke with the female victim. She stated that she and 48-year-old Richard Scott Davenport had gotten into an argument.
During the argument, the victim stated that she and Richard had made their way into the bathroom. Richard began throwing items from one of the cabinets in the bathroom. According to the victim, after she had started cleaning up the mess, Richard pushed her to the floor of the bathroom and held her there, yelling at her to look at the grout in the tile.
Richard then grabbed a mirror from off the bathroom door and hit the victim over the back of her neck, causing the mirror to break, causing lacerations to her neck and face on her left arm and lacerations to both left and right thighs. The victim explained that during the incident, her 9-year-old daughter heard and saw the incident.
Deputy Anderton spoke to Richard about the incident. He said they had gotten into an argument that ended up in the bathroom. Richard stated that the victim said that his home had mold in the bathroom.
Richard said at that point of the argument, he slammed the victim to the floor, forcing her to look at the tile grout, and told her there was no mold on the floor. Richard said the victim grabbed the mirror and hit him in the forehead. Richard stated that he then picked up the mirror off the floor and threw it down, and while doing so, it hit the victim on the back of the neck.
Richard was placed under arrest and booked into Uintah County Jail for domestic violence, a class A misdemeanor, and for domestic violence in the presence of a child, a class B misdemeanor.
Richard Davenport is being held at the Uintah County Jail without bail.
