Roosevelt Man Arrested For Burglary

Roosevelt, Ut.- On 9/13/22, around 6 pm, Officer Bird was dispatched to a call of a man trying to enter the backdoor of an apartment building. The victim stated the same man was in her home the day before and had taken a cellphone and some credit cards.

When Officer Bird arrived, he saw the man walking north from the residence on 100 east. Officer Bird pulled up next to the man and told him to stop and needed to talk to him. The Officer noticed the man had a knife in his right pocket and placed him in handcuffs.

After talking with the man about the situation, Officer Bird got the man's name, Franklin Jackson Edgar.

While talking to the robbery victims, they told the Officer they didn't know Franklin and did not allow him in their home, and were sure he had used their credit cards and Franklin was the man that had stolen her husband's cellphone.

Franklin admitted to having the cell phone but said, "he didn't use their credit cards." Franklin was then arrested for burglary and transported to the Roosevelt Police Department.

An innovatory of Franklin's items was done at the police department, and illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia were found. The drugs looked to be heroin. Franklin was then transported to the hospital for medical clearance and then to Duchesne County Jail for burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
