An Inmate Breaks A Fire Sprinkler, Giving Him A Shower Inside His Cell

At 11:00 am, Duchesne County Jail Sergeant Roberts informed Deputy Green of an incident that had taken place inside the jail days earlier of an inmate damaging jail property.

After reviewing the camera footage it showed 20-year-old Damion Thanx Rasmussen-Boren alone, locked in isolation cell 1, covering the camera with what appeared to be wet toilet paper.

The camera is obstructed for some time when Damion removes the toilet paper from the camera, showing the emergency fire sprinklers spraying water and fire retardant all over him and the cell.

At 12:30 Deputy Green entered the jail and met with Inmate Rasmussen for an interview. Damion stated he broke the sprinkler because he didn’t like being in isolation, and took the toilet paper roll, pressed it against the sprinkler until it broke. When asked why he covered the camera Damion said “Being in isolation just isn’t good for me.”

Damion was charged with damaging jails or other places of confinement and Criminal Mischief for causing critical damage to an isolation cell, rendering it uninhabitable until reparations are completed.
