Monday evening, a male complainant called 9-1-1, reporting a domestic violence incident in Naples City. He didn't know the exact address, but the responding officer was familiar with the individuals and proceeded to their residence.
Police arrived at the scene and began to speak with the individuals involved in the incident.
19-year-old Izaiah Conrad Goff stated he and the victim had gone to Walmart earlier in the evening and had an argument. He said the victim became upset, wanting him to leave on foot.
When returning home, he found the victim loading her vehicle to leave. Goff stated the victim asked for her phone, and he threw it into the car through the open door. He claimed the phone hit a basket on the front seat, bounced off the window, and hit the victim in the face.
Goff admitted that he does have anger issues but denied any intent to hurt the victim and said he tried to console the victim.
Goff’s cousin, who also resides at the residence, reported not witnessing the incident but confirmed allowing the victim to use their phone since the victim's phone was dead. The cousin stated that the cell phone in question was commonly used by both Goff and the victim.
The victim reported being hit on the bridge of the nose by Goff’s elbow, not a cell phone. She then said Goff tried to take the phone and the car keys to keep her from leaving.
The victim told the officers she was experiencing pain on the bridge of the nose, right ear, and right corner of the mouth. Officer McGaha observed redness on her right ear and markings near the corner of her mouth. She also stated there was previous abuse from Goff.
The complainant (victim's father) stated that the victim had called him in distress, reporting abuse, the phone being thrown, and missing keys believed to be in Goff's possession.
Goff was placed under arrest and transported to the UCSO Jail, where he was booked on charges related to domestic violence-simple assault.
Izaiah Goff may post bail in the amount of $1,080.00.
