| Duchesne County | May 18th, 2024 |

In a rural area of Duchesne County, a male called 9-1-1 stating that his ex-wife, 39-year-old Nicole Marie Solomon (Yeaman), and her uncle were driving past his house, taking pictures, and ringing the doorbell.

The vehicle described was a white four-door Mazda SUV. While Deputy Cox was en route, another caller in the area reported the same issue, saying that a white Mazda attempted to hit his friend.

When Deputy Cox arrived at the scene, he met with Mr. Solomon and the other complainant, where Mr. Solomon said that Nicole had been incessantly calling and sending him messages. Mr. Solomon had told Nicole three times to leave him alone, but she continued to send multiple messages.

Mr. Solomon stated whoever was driving the Mazda tried to run him over, and the second vehicle went to his house, knocking on the door and scaring the babysitter and the children.

Mr. Solomon was across the street watching the Mazda drive past his neighbor's house, where his vehicle was parked. He said the white Mazda was driving recklessly. The neighbors became angry because their kids were outside playing.

The Mazda drove past Mr. Solomon’s truck and flipped around, and Mr. Solomon could see the flash from a camera. He then walked the road, trying to figure out what was going on and confront the driver about driving the way they were past the children.

The Mazda stayed there for about 2 to 3 minutes, taking pictures, and then drove toward Mr. Solomon. Mr. Solomon stepped out into the road and held his hand out to stop the vehicle.

The Mazda got closer to Mr. Solomon. The driver hit the gas, pushing Mr. Solomon onto the hood while the vehicle continued to drive. Mr. Solomon was able to slide off of the vehicle, and the Mazda left the area. The neighbor confirmed the story and also had pictures of the vehicle.

Mr. Solomon told Deputy Cox that he wasn't able to positively identify the driver because of the headlights but believed he only saw one person inside. He was then asked where Nicole was staying right now. He said that she had been house-sitting for a friend who went to Pennsylvania and had dropped off or picked up kids from the house before.

The deputy asked Mr. Solomon if he needed emergency services, he said said that he is fine and was able to get off the car okay. Deputy Cox did observe some scuff marks on his pants around his knees.

Roosevelt City Police was asked to go to the address to look for Nicole. When they arrived, a white Mazda parked in the driveway that, after a records check, belonged to Nicole.

When the RPD officers attempted to contact Nicole, they observed the lights inside the home go off. They also felt the Mazda and said that it was still warm. When officers attempted to make contact with Nicole, however, she refused to answer the door.

Deputy Cox believed there was probable cause to arrest Nicole for the offenses of aggravated assault, as she intentionally ran into another human being, which could have caused substantial bodily injury or death, then continued even when they were on her hood and telecommunications device harassment after the victim told her multiple times to stop with a domestic violence enhancement as they have been married.

Deputy Cox submitted for a search warrant to enter the residence and locate Nicole.

The search warrant was approved and then executed. Deputy Cox entered the home through a back door and called out but did not get an answer. After continuing the search, he could hear Nicole from an upstairs room say she was sleeping.

The deputy gave commands to Nicole and placed her under arrest, in handcuffs behind her back. While speaking with Nicole, a strong odor of alcohol came from Nicole. Her words were slurred, and her eyes were red and watery.

Nicole needed assistance walking downstairs, and she stated she had medical issues. Deputy Cox also observed a bottle of alcohol in the kitchen, which had been consumed and only had a small amount of liquid left.

The deputy advised Nicole of the report he received and asked for her side of the story. Nicole claimed she had been at the house all night and didn’t go to the victim's home. Deputy Cox told her that he knew she was up there in the vehicle because the witness had taken a photo of it, gotten the license plate, and located the vehicle in a warm engine compartment.

She continued to deny that the vehicle was up there. The deputy asked if anyone else would have taken the car. She said, "No."

Nicole then started to talk about the incident where the victim was hit. She claimed that she went up to the victim's home because she was insecure about her kids and what was going on at the house.

Nicole said that she went by and turned around, and Mr. Solomon told her to stop. She said that she hit the brakes, and Mr. Solomon began to walk towards the side window. Nicole said she then let off the brake and rolled forward, but she claimed that she never hit Mr. Solomon.

Deputy Cox also spoke with Nicole about the harassing communications. Nicole claimed that it was okay for her to send the messages because they were about the children. Deputy Cox read through many of the messages, which had nothing to do with children, and told her that when someone tells her to stop communicating with them, she needs to stop.

Nicole was advised that she was under arrest and transported to the hospital, where she received a medical clearance and was booked into the Duchesne County Jail.
