Vernal City Police responded to a disorderly call that occurred at Smith's at 1080 West US-40. Officer Candelas was informed by dispatch that a male had spit on the faces of the employees at the grocery store and then left the scene.
One of the employees described the male as 6'2", with a shaved head and tattoos.
Officer Candelas was patrolling westbound back toward Smith’s when he observed a tall male with a shaved head walking in the parking lot at the Shell gas station at 81 North 500 West.
As the officer pulled into the gas station parking lot, the male walked into the convenience store. The officer followed him inside the store and identified the male as 38-year-old Landon Paul Waddell from Tennessee.
The officer asked Landon if he was recently at Smith’s, and he replied, “Yeah, let me get something to eat real quick.”
Landon turned away from the officer and started to walk away. When Officer Candelas told Landon no, let me speak with you, he turned around, facing the officer, and said, "Hey, I'm fixing to swing on you, bro," and began walking toward the officer, acting as if he wanted to fight.
Landon Waddell was arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail.
One of the employees told an assisting officer that the spit had gone into her mouth.

Vernal PD was dispatched to a call of an intoxicated male walking East on Main Street past the 7-Eleven on 500 East. Two individuals called on the male, reporting him "stumbling all over" and "staggering around."
