Vernal, Ut. - On 11/13/23, Sgt Gledhill responded to Cal-Ranch on a report of an unwanted subject inside the store. The Officer spoke with the store's Manager and was told that the subject had come into the store yesterday and had used drugs in their bathroom.
Therefore, the Manager didn't want him in the store and requested he be trespassed. An employee took Sgt Gledhill through the store and toward the men's clothing department. The employee pointed out the male subject, who was identified as 29-year-old Tyler Ray Secrest.
Gledhill approached Tyler and told him he needed to leave the store. Tyler grabbed a backpack from the shopping cart and walked out with the Officer.
Sgt. Gledhill checked Tyler's information and found that he had a warrant out for his arrest. Tyler was informed of the warrant and asked if he had anything illegal on him. He said he had a tooter in his pocket.
Tyler was arrested and searched, and in his pocket were two tooters containing fentanyl residue; he also had syringes and multiple pieces of tinfoil inside his backpack.
Tyler was transported to the Uintah County Jail and booked on the warrant, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Because of Tyler's criminal history, the controlled substance charge was enhanced to a felony.
Thank God they stopped him he is now on his way to rehab then sober living.
