A Female Gets Assaulted By Her Brother’s Roommate

Vernal City Police were dispatched on a domestic disturbance where the complainant stated her brother's roommate hit her.


When Cpl Johnstun arrived at the location, a male, identified as 62-year-old Wade Allen Simonton, was sitting outside in a vehicle. Inside the residence were the victim and her adult daughter.


The victim stated she and Wade had been arguing on the front porch when he hit her with his fist in the chest, causing her to fall on the floor.


Cpl Johnstun talked to Wade about the altercation, and he said he had pushed the victim to get her out of his face, and that's how she fell.


Based on this information, Cpl Johnstun determined Wade and the victim were cohabitants, and Wade had used unlawful force with the intent to cause bodily injury to the victim.


Wade was placed under arrest for assault as a domestic violence. During a search incident to arrest, a plastic pipe was found in Wade's front shirt pocket with a white crystalline residue. Wade admitted to consuming meth.


Wade was booked into the Uintah County Jail for assault, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Based on Wade's criminal history, the offense of possession of methamphetamine was enhanced to a 3rd degree felony.


Wade Allen Simonton is being held without bail.
